Rimando of CRS shares expertise at Sports Engineering conference

UST College of Rehabilitation Sciences faculty member Asst. Prof. Christian Rey D. Rimando was speaker during the first Advances in Sports Engineering Conference (ASEC) 2020 held through Zoom from November 19 to 20, 2020.

Hosted by the Universitas Negeri Jakarta Sports Science Faculty, the conference had for its theme “Technology in Physical Movement: Innovation Through Diversity.”

In his talk titled “Biomechanics and Technology for Sports Injuries: A Physical Therapy Perspective,” Rimando shared approaches and techniques that physical therapists do in assessing and managing sports injuries by integrating biomechanical principles and maximization of technology. He also highlighted the role that physical therapists play in optimizing performance of athletes, preventing injuries, and managing sports injuries.

Rimando has been a practicing Physical Therapist since September 2008, and started teaching at the College of Rehabilitation Sciences in the same year. A full-fledged Thomasian, he obtained both his Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree in 2011, Magna cum Laude, and his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy degree in 2008 from the University of Santo Tomas.
