VIRREY, Glenn C.

Engr. Glenn C. Virrey is an alumnus of the Technological University of the Philippines, earning his Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering last March 2017. He was a full-time Electronics Engineering Department faculty member at the same university from 2020 to 2023. He is a full-time academic staff of the Department of Electronics Engineering at the University of Santo Tomas – Faculty of Engineering and was appointed the Faculty’s Pedagogical Lead. He earned his Master of Science in Electronics Engineering, majoring in Microelectronics at Mapua University last September 2022. He had his early career years in the corporate industry as a Failure Analysis Engineer and Supplier Quality Engineer at Amkor Technology, Philippines, Inc. He is an active member of the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IECEP), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the IEEE Control Systems Society (IEEE-CSS). He is also an Associate Member of the National Research Council of the Philippines. He is currently a Board Member, elected as Vice-Governor for Education of the IECEP-Manila Chapter, and the Adviser of its student chapter (IECEP-MSC). He also serves as the Lead Coordinator of the Contest Committee of the IEEE Region 10 Student Activities Committee. He is one of the advisers of the Network of Electronics Engineering Students of the UST ECE Department. He authored and co-authored several published research studies and presented at conferences from 2020 up to date. He also conducted talks at different universities and events about the Microelectronics field. His interests in the ECE field include semiconductor manufacturing and IC design, smart agricultural technology, biomedical engineering, and wireless network and sensor systems.
