VICENTE, Carmina S.

Assoc. Prof. Carmina Sevilla Vicente is a faculty member of the UST College of Education serving in various capacities since 2009. She served as a supervising teacher for Pre-school Education (2014-2016) prior her designation as the pioneer Chairperson of the Elementary Education Department (2019 –present). She has participated in the SEA Teacher Program either as mentor and coordinator of SEAMEO since 2018. She was the President of Asian Science and Technological Institute in Malabon City (2008-2011), its Vice-President from 2006 to 2008 and founding Board Secretary from 2006-2011; a TESDA – NCR and TESDA CAMANAVA (2007-2014) Lead Trainer & Assessor for TM1/AM1 (2008-2014). She served as a Preschool Coordinator in Lourdes School Quezon City (2003-2004; 2005-2006) where she taught in the preschool level (1990-2006).

She was awarded as Outstanding Preschool Teacher by the Association of Private Schools Administrators, Inc. (2004) and was the Over-all Batch Leader and Presenter/ Discussant in the Philippine-Japanese JICA Friendship Program for the 21st Century in Japan (2001). She was also a contributor in the Training Manual for Trainers Methodology program of TESDA. She authored and co-authored work-textbooks for the “YOUNG MINDS SERIES: Learning to Speak and Write” for Rex Book Store, Inc. (2000), and research articles presented in local and international conferences.

She holds a Doctoral Degree in Philosophy in Development Studies from the Royal, Pontifical and Catholic University of Santo Tomas (2018); a Masters of Arts Degree in Education major in Child Study from the Philippine Normal University (2000) and a Bachelor of Elementary Education (Cum Laude) from UST (1990).
