Asst. Prof. Roland M. Panaligan, MD, received his B.Sc in Medical Technology and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Santo Tomas in 2001 and 2006, respectively. He received his LLM in Medical Law and Ethics from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom in 2018. He is an internist-pulmonologist, an active Philippine College of Chest Physicians member, and the immediate past chairÌýof its Council on Diagnostics and Therapeutics. Dr. Panaligan is likewise active in the field of health research ethics as a member of the National Ethics Committee and the Committee on Information Dissemination, Training and Advocacy of the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board. He is a co-chapter head of Clinical Ethics from the Philippine College of Physician’s Textbook of Internal Medicine published recently.
