Maria Luisa R. Olano is a registered medical technologist and an educator. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Education major in Educational Management, from the prestigious University of Santo Tomas. Her educational journey also includes a Master of Arts in College Teaching major in Medical Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, both earned at Manila Central University. A faculty member of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Medical Technology, University of Santo Tomas. A recipient of the Crisanto Almario Memorial Award for Research-PAMET Northern Luzon in 2022. She previously served as the program head of the College of Allied Medical Sciences, Medical Technology Program at La Consolacion University Philippines. Additionally, she held a similar leadership role at the College of Medical Technology at Our Lady of Fatima University – Pampanga Campus. Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping the future of medical technology education. Further demonstrating her dedication to education and healthcare, she has served as a Project Leader for the Health Care, Curriculum, and Courseware Department at STI-HQ, where she played a pivotal role in curriculum and course material development. She is an active member of the Philippine Association of Schools of Medical Technology and Public Health (PASMETH) and the Philippines Association of Medical Technology (PAMET).
