GINO-GINO, Jinky Rose P.

Asst. Prof. Jinky Rose P. Gino-gino, Ph.D., CHE, CGSP, is a Faculty Member from the Tourism Management Department of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) – College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM).

Dr. Gino-gino is a current member of CTHM Research Committee and a member of Textbook and Learning Materials. Likewise, she was a former CTHM Research Coordinator for 2017-2018; appointed as CTHM Library Coordinator for 2016-2017. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Tourism (1999 Academic Excellence Awardee) from the Centro Escolar University, Manila, Master of Arts in Southeast Asian Studies (M.A. SEAS)(2002), and Doctor of Philosophy in Southeast Asian Studies (Ph.D., SEAS) (2016). In 2016, she obtained her Professional Certification from American Hotel and Lodging Association, as Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) and Certified Guest Service Professional (CGSP).

In 2019, one of her research works entitled: “The Emergence, Viability and Competitive Leverage of Couchsurfing in the Philippines: Basis for a Proposed Strategic Brand Awareness Program,” was published in Journal of Physics: Conference Series, Bandung Indonesia. 

Some of her notable research highlights include: “An Analysis of Selected Major Tourist Attractions of the Philippines as they Relate with selected Southeast Asian Countries” that she presented at APaCHRIE, Malaysia on May 24, 2014. In 2016, she wrote “Southeast Asia’s New Wonders of Nature: Challenges and Responses for Sustainability” and “Developing Stakeholders: Consultative Paradigm to Address Challenges in Three UNESCO World heritage sites in Ilocos,” presented at 82nd TOSOK, Korea, July 5-7, 2017. 

Moreover, she is also the co-author of various researches to include: “The Perceived Influence of Hallyu Among the Selected Tourism Supply Components in Angeles, Pampanga,” “Harmonizing Tourism Development through Corporate Social Responsibility for Achieving Sustainable Tourism: The Case of Minalungao National Park,” “An Assessment of Baguio City’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan in Selected Tourism Sectors,” “The Perceived Socio-Cultural and Economic Impacts of the Diplomat Hotel as a Dark Tourism Site Between the Tourist and the Residence of Dominican Hill, Baguio City,” “The Push and Full Factors of Kidzania Manila as Recreational Tourist Attraction,” “An Assessment on the Challenges and Responses of Risk Management Program on the Three UNESCO Heritage Sites in Ilocos: A Basis for Proposed Risk Management Program,” “The Arising Need of ICT Induced Promotions and Awareness for the Sustained Environment and Wildlife: The Case of Puerto Princesa Subterranean River,” and “From Hello to Farewell: Phenomenologizing Constructive Reciprocal Actions Towards Building Trust Between Couchsurfers and Host Community.”

Dr. Gino-gino is delighted to serve the University of Santo Tomas as an educator, researcher, and community builder for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
