Asst. Prof. Dennis Franco Fernandez, MD, FPCP, FPSG, FPSDE, currently holds the position of Assistant Professor 1 in the Department of Medicine at the UST Faculty of Medicine & Surgery. In the realm of administration, he serves as the Chairman of the Joint Committee on Research and Research Education for the Philippine Society of Gastroenterology, Philippine Society of Digestive Endoscopy, and Hepatology Society of the Philippines. Additionally, he is a Member of the Council on Pancreatobiliary Diseases at the Philippine Society of Gastroenterology and holds the role of Assistant Training Officer for the Advanced Endoscopy (ERCP) Fellowship at Cardinal Santos Medical Center. Dr. Fernandez’s scholarly focus spans Adult Gastroenterology, Advanced Endoscopy (ERCP/EUS), and International Health with a specialization in Health Promotion. His extensive education includes ongoing pursuit of a Masters in International Health at the University of the Philippines Open University, along with Fellowships and Diplomas in various aspects of Gastroenterology and International Health. Recognized for his research contributions, Dr. Fernandez has received prestigious awards, such as first place in the Philippine Society of Gastroenterology Joint Annual Convention Research contest in 2019 and Young Investigator Awards at international conferences. Professionally affiliated with the Philippine College of Physicians, Philippine Society of Gastroenterology, and Philippine Society of Digestive Endoscopy, he serves as a Fellow in these esteemed organizations. Dr. Fernandez actively contributes to multiple hospitals, including the University of Santo Tomas Hospital, Cardinal Santos Medical Center, Delos Santos Medical Center, Fe Del Mundo Medical Center, Providence Hospital, and Hospital of the Infant Jesus.
