ÌýDY, Frederick T.

Dr. Frederick Dy is a gastroenterologist at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital and St. Luke’s Medical Center in Manila, Philippines. After his fellowship training in gastroenterology, he furthered his studies in endoscopy, particularly endoscopic ultrasonography, at Universitat Krankenhaus Eppendorf in Hamburg, Germany, and at Bhatia General Hospital in Mumbai, India. He currently holds the position of assistant professor of the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Santo Tomas. He was a past president of the Philippine Society of Gastroenterology and a board member of the Philippine Society of Digestive Endoscopy and Hepatology Society of the Philippines. He also served as the Endoscopy unit head of the University of Santo Tomas Hospital. Presently, he holds the position of Chief of both the Gastroenterology and GI oncology Sections at Benavides Cancer Institute of the University of Santo Tomas Hospital. He is likewise the council’s current Chairman on Pancreaticobiliary Diseases of the Philippine Society of Gastroenterology. He is a member of various special interest groups around the region, including the Asian EUS group.
