Assistant Professor Aileen Cynthia Fernando De Lara, MD, MHA, FPCP, FPCC, FACC, serves as a distinguished educator in the dual capacity of the Department of Physiology and the Department of Medicine at UST Faculty of Medicine & Surgery, holding the academic rank of Assistant Professor V. Her notable administrative roles include Chief of the Section of Cardiology at Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center and a dedicated member of the Accreditation Committee for the Cardiology Fellowship Training Program at the Philippine Heart Association. Dr. De Lara’s research interests span Adult Cardiology with a focus on Women’s Cardiovascular Health and Heart Failure and a passion for Medical Education, Hospital Administration, and Development Studies. She is a seasoned academician with a Doctorate in Philosophy in Development Studies from UST Graduate School, a Master’s in Hospital Administration (Cum Laude), and Fellowships in Interventional Cardiology and Cardiology from renowned institutions. Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. De Lara has held pivotal positions, including Chair of the Council for Women’s Health at the Philippine Heart Association, Chair of the Department of Medical Education and Research at UST Hospital, and Quality Medical Officer at UST Hospital’s Quality Management Office. Her extensive affiliations include fellowships in the American College of Cardiology, Philippine College of Physicians, and Philippine College of Cardiology and memberships in various Philippine Heart Association councils.
