Mary Ann Venturina Bulanadi, Ph.D. is a cultural heritage advocate, researcher, exhibit and historic interior spaces curator, and educator. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy, major in Development Studies (2020), Master’s degree in Cultural Heritage Studies (2004), as well Bachelor of Science in Architecture at the old College of Architecture and Fine Arts (1986) at the University of Santo Tomas (UST), while she also completed a Diploma Course in Interior Design at the Philippine School of Interior Design (1991). She currently serves as a faculty member of the Interior Design program of the UST College of Fine Arts & Design; researcher at UST Research Center for Culture, Arts and Humanities (UST-RCCAH); and curator at Bahay Nakpil Bautista, Quiapo. She has served as a resource speaker in various conferences and seminars, specializing in the research and implementation of adaptive reuse of heritage houses. She has developed the Socio-Cultural Sustainability Index for use in curating adaptively reused historic interior spaces. Currently, she is at work on several curatorial and exhibition design projects (the Julio Nakpil music and visual interpretation exhibit and the San Sebastian Basilica online fundraising exhibit). She is also set to publish a series of articles based on her research work on the Socio-Cultural Sustainability Index for adaptive reuse.
