Leidy May Alnajes is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of the Philippines Diliman, specializing in Filipino: Pagsasalin. Her academic journey has been marked by significant accomplishments, having completed her Master of Arts in Philippine Studies with a major in Language, Culture, and Media in 2020 at De La Salle University, Manila.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Leidy May plays a vital role as the Student Welfare and Development Coordinator, a position she has held since 2022, contributing to the holistic development of the students. She is also an active member of UST Sentro Sa Salin at Araling Salin, where her passion for language, culture, and translation is further nurtured.
Leidy May’s research interests encompass Language, Culture, Media, Translation Studies, and Teaching Strategies, reflecting her dedication to bridging the gaps between languages and cultures. Her commitment extends to the classroom, where she imparts knowledge to first-year college students in Filipino, covering areas such as Kontekstuwalisadong Komunikasyon sa Filipino and Panimulang Pagsasalin.
She has been a valuable contributor to various academic committees. She has also shared her expertise as a Resource Speaker in notable events like PASADO Ikalawang Pambansang Webinar sa Pagtuturo ng Wika, Kultura Panitikan at Pelikula (ALAB), where she delved into the art of translation using the theory of Translation by Mona Baker. Her contributions extend to Salintasan, a series of discussions on Filipino translation.
