Asst. Prof. Donna May D.C. Papa, PhD, RMT, DPAM is the new Vice-President of the Philippine Society of Microbiology, Inc, where she served previously as Corresponding Secretary.
Papa’s research interests are on bacteriophage (bacterial viruses) ecology, aquaculture, therapy, and systematics. Her researches focus on bacterial viruses as alternatives to antibiotics, as a response to the increase rate of antibiotic resistance among patients. She earned her doctorate degree in biological sciences in 2018 and is a faculty member of the Department of Biological Sciences.
