During the July 28-31, 2015 International Conference on Special Education by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education (SEAMEO), Assoc. Prof. Marie Antonette J. Sunga-Vargas, PhD of the College of Science and Assoc. Prof. Donald Lipardo, MSPT of the College of Rehabilitation Sciences presented their papers on special education.
Dr. Vargas, concurrently the Director of the Office for Admissions, presented her paper that investigated on the “Development of the Socio-Emotional Behavioral Factor” in children with special needs. This paper was co-authored by Asst. Prof. Marichou Beltran of the UST College of Education.
Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Lipardo discussed his study on the “Development of Gross Motor Skills.” Both papers were part of the Tool for Measuring Acquired Skills (ToMAS), a multidimensional screening tool for assessing the development of skills. This endeavor is under the comprehensive inclusive education program entitled “Ugnayan, Sanayan, at Tulayan” (UST), housed in the College of Education.
