UST College of Architecture (USTCA) administrative officials, faculty members and alumnus participated in the International Forum for Architecture Thesis Design in Taiwan & Southeast Asia 2019 held at Shih Chien University, Taiwan from November 15 to 17, 2019. The delegation was headed by Dean Rodolfo P. Ventura who presented the Architectural Design Pedagogy of the UST College of Architecture.
Together with the Dean were College Secretary Ar. Vinson P. Serrano, Asst. Prof. Manuel Maximo DC Noche, and Asst. Prof. Rino Domingo A. Fernandez. Mr. Miguel Feliciano, an alumnus of USTCA batch 2019 presented his architectural thesis titled: “Parametric Geometry in Damaged Heritage Fabric.” The International Forum was organized by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan and the Alliance for Architectural Modernity.
With a conference title: “New Creative Grounds”, the International Forum for Architecture Thesis Design in Taiwan & Southeast Asia 2019 aims to explore and understand each other’s position, millieu and characteristics through an exhibition of thesis design works, along with presentations and critiques of thesis projects. It also aims to deepen relationships, broaden perspectives through various design process, and encourage university collaboration in Southeast Asia. The Forum was participated by five countries represented by 11 universities in Southeast Asia. In addition, Asst. Prof. Noche took part as one of the students’ reviewers during the thesis presentations, while Asst. Prof. Fernandez and College Secretary Serrano attended several meetings for possible institutional linkages and other future academic collaborations.
