A group of learners from the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (ձ)’s BS Tourism Management Major in Recreation and Leisure Management program won the Best Paper Award in the recently held Youth Asia Pacific Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (APacCHRIE) Conference hosted by Sunway University, Malaysia. The virtual conference took place from May 23-25, 2022.
Rei Abigail M. Co, Karl Richard S. Dela Torre, Liam Jan P. Guerrero, Christine Jean R. Javier, Raven Denzel S. Razon, Pamela I. Rosindi, Graciela Kristine F. Soriano, and their adviser and co-author, Inst. Jame Monren T. Mercado, MACHS, presented a research paper entitled “Agkuyog (Together): Community Participation in Tourism Development for the New Normal – The Case of Candon City, Ilocos Sur, Philippines”. The researchers studied the community participation in tourism development for the new normal in Candon City, Ilocos Sur using the qualitative-phenomenological approach.
Two (2) other teams presented their papers at the Main Conference with the titles. “Social Media Applications as Marketing Tool of Chicken Takeaway Establishment during Pandemic,” was presented by Kyle Monrae Padonan, Krystle Mae Caubalejo, Cara Justine Baldovino, Christine Mae Pagdilao and Miguel Victor Amat, co-authored by Mr. Karl R. Baroro, while “Influence of Mobile Food Delivery Experience on Customer Reuse Intention during Covid-19 Pandemic,” by Joshua Anthony Samaniego, Portia Tuazon, Angelica Beatriz Ubuñgen, Vincent Philip Vaño, and co-authored by Ms. Kathrine Camille A. Nagal and Dr. Agnes Jocelyn Bandojo.
