On October 18, 2019, the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM) inked memoranda of agreement with Rajah Travel Corporation (Tourism Knowledge Center) and LSERV Corporation, in a bid to further enhance academe-industry linkages. Representing the University were Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Cheryl R. Peralta, DrPH, CTHM Dean Gezzez Giezi G. Granado, DCL, and Regent fr. Roland D. Mactal, O.P., SThD.
The collaboration between the University of Santo Tomas and Rajah Travel Corporation will make it possible for the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management to develop and maintain a website where information, data, researches, studies, and publications on Travel and Tourism from partners and organizations be uploaded and make available for public use.
The collaboration between the University of Santo Tomas and LSERV Corporation will make it possible for the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management to provide Customer Service Training for Tourism students, which will be a pre-requisite for their graduation. According to Dean Granado, “Most successful tourism and hospitality businesses recognize the importance of providing outstanding customer service. While a variety of elements go into creating a successful business, customer service is center-stage, [for] every interaction the company has with a customer (or potential customer) can affect the business.â€
