Argentinian scholar discusses international trade at USTGS

Sebastián Sterzer, an Argentinian scholar under the auspices of the Embassy of Argentina in Manila, delivered a special lecture titled “Argentina in the International Trade” during a forum held on November 22, 2019 at the Graduate School Boardroom, Thomas Aquinas Research Complex.

In his lecture, Sterzer underscored the role of Argentina in international trade and the prospect of strengthening its partnership with the Philippines. He also talked about his home institution and encouraged all Thomasian participants from the graduate and undergraduate departments taking up political science to visit Argentina either as exchange scholars or simply as academic tourists.

Sterzer is head of the International Relations Area, International Trade Observatory at the Universidad Nacional de Luján, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He obtained his Licentiate degree in International Trade at the National University of Lujan in 2011 and a Licentiate degree in Eastern Studies at the Universidad del Salvador in 2018.

The special lecture was spearheaded by the Political Science and Public Administration cluster of the Graduate School. Present at the lecture, apart from the Faculty of Arts and Letters undergraduate and USTGS students, were the academic officials of the Graduate School, Dean Michael Anthony C. Vasco, Ph.D., Faculty Secretary Assoc. Prof. Alejandro S. Bernardo, PhD., and  Program Lead for Political Science and Public Administration Dr. Belen L. Tangco.
