Prof. Jovencio G. Apostol, PhD, of the Department of Pharmacy of the Faculty of Pharmacy, received the 2017 National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) Achievement Award for Research in Pharmacy last March 22, 2017 (Wednesday). The award was conferred during the annual scientific conference held in conjunction with the 84th General Membership Assembly at the Philippine International Convention Center.
Apostol, who is a resident researcher in the Research Center for the Natural and Applied Sciences, specializes in pharmacology and toxicology. Among his research highlights are the discovery of the effects of E. hirta on platelet function and morphology, as well as endeavors in vascular pharmacology of natural products in isolated tissue.
